The genre link, "Stop You're Killing Me" has lots of information: new books, new audio, read alikes and different award lists. This is a great place to go for avid mystery readers.
Yikes - there is a lot of good information on this Prezi. However, I'm not a fan of Prezi. There is too much clicking around and moving from place to place on the screen for me.
"Good Reads" has a sub genre for Cozy Mysteries. Cozies don't focus on sex, profanity or violence and deaths are usually bloodless. There is usually a likeable amateur sleuth and nosy neighbor. The "Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder" by Fluke is the story of a busy bakery owner who tries to track down the killer of the deliveryman found dead behind her store.
Horror also has different sub genres. Horror fiction is intended to scare the audience. At times, the scare is caused by a supernatural being like a ghost. Thus, the sub genre of ghosts. "The Graveyard Book" by Gaiman is a story of the grisly murder of an entire family, a toddler wanders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of their own.
The genre Romance also has different sub genres. Christian Romance books feature Christian characters and Christian faith themes. The characters in the books don't drink, use profane language and sex is only hinted at. Janette Oke writes many Christian Romance books. One of her popular titles is "When Calls the Heart".
